Pierre Bejjani is the Managing Director and Executive Editor of Profile News Ohio and the Senior Partner of Diversity Advertising Agency. In addition to running the region’s largest Arabic/English newspaper, Profile News Ohio, Pierre actively promotes Middle Eastern culture. He educates the public on the importance of diversity within our local, state, and national communities. He was born in Lebanon and came to Cleveland in 1981, where he pursued a degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University.
Pierre has long been involved in the region’s diversity and immigration initiative. He was the recipient of Crain’s Cleveland Business, Most Notable Immigrant Leaders, in 2020. Where Crain’s honors professional, civic, and philanthropic achievements while highlighting their social and economic contributions to Northeast Ohio.
In June 2016 he was honored to be recognized as Immigrant of the Month by Global Cleveland. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Global Cleveland Initiative. He was 2022 Recipient of the Trailblazer Award from Arab America Foundation in Washington DC.
Pierre was one of the Founders and Board Members and currently serves as Vice President of the Worldwide Intercultural Network and International Community – Council of Northeast Ohio (ICC-WIN). He also serves as an Ambassador for Cleveland People.com representing the Lebanese Community.
Currently he is the President of the Cleveland American Middle Eastern Organization (CAMEO) est. 1970, a nonpartisan, nonsectarian political action organization that focuses on local politics. Since 1994 he has served as Board Member, First Vice President, and for the last 13 years as President.
Founder and Chairman of the American Lebanese Community Council, which promotes Lebanese heritage and traditions and is the sponsoring organization for the Lebanese Cultural Garden in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.
A strong supporter of the arts community, Pierre serves on the Executive Board of the Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation. Mr. Bejjani is also on the advisory committee for the Cleveland Public Theater and was instrumental in developing the “Masrah Al Arabi” Arabic theater. Mr. Bejjani has also served on the advisory board for the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Pierre is a member of the advisory board for the U.S. Army Grass Roots Recruiting Battalion of Northern Ohio. He received awards for his support and commitment to the U.S. Army Cleveland Recruiting Company in April 2011, awarded for his initiatives and contributions to the success of the U.S. Army Strength in Diversity Program.
His activism captured the attention of State and Federal Leaders. Governor Mike DeWine appointed Bejjani to the Governor Board and Commission for the 2020 Census and the Restaurants and Bars Committee to Re-Open Ohio. He currently serves on Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s Diversity and Empowerment Council. He proudly served on the Advisory Committee of Nationalities from 2016-2022 for Senator Rob Portman.
Pierre and his wife Mary have been married for 30 years and live in beautiful Seven Hills. They are proud parents of their daughter Julia. With his lifelong faith and dedication to the Maronite rite of the Catholic religion, he is a parishioner at St. Maron Catholic Church in Cleveland. Pierre speaks three languages fluently Arabic, English, and French.
His involvement in Lebanese, American, Middle Eastern and Local Communities is to create understanding and educate the public about the importance of diversity and the coexistence of different cultures in our society.
